The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Preacher Curl 3 sets of 6-8 reps
Pull ups as many as I can do

    Tuesday - REST

    Wednesday - CARDIO
Cycling/ jogging (depends on the weather) for 1 hour + or -

    Thursday - TRICEPS and CHEST
Incline bench 3 sets of 5-6 reps
Bench 3 sets of 5-6 reps
Dips 3 sets as many as I can

    Friday - REST

    Saturday - BACK
Pull ups 4 sets as many reps as I can
Chins 4 sets as many as I can
    Pulldown 3 sets of 8 -10 reps
Rowing 4 sets of 8-10 reps

    Sunday - CARDIO
    Cycling for 1 hour + or -

    What you all think?

Your biceps are getting work when you do your chin, pullups, and pulldowns. Your first day workout is 7 sets of biceps work. Compare to your pecs and triceps, which get 9 sets combined. By doing fewer sets of biceps work and moving them to your back day, that would free up a day for legs.

    Another thought-

You've got two days of extensive cardio. Most people trying to gain muscle mass/strength don't do that much cardio. If you're more interested in general conditioning the cardio works, but then I wouldn't be doing as intense weight training. If strength/mass is not your goal, then you could do more of a circuit training routine where you do a few sets of each exercise but do a whole-body workout.

Is this a joke???? C'mon, Cent. A day for biceps alone?? Try this:

    Mon: Legs
    Tue: Chest/Shoulders
    Wed: OFF
    Thur: Back/Traps
    Fri: Arms

That oughta satisfy your needs for bicep work..

I like to train biceps on a day of it's own. I don't think that I use them enough when I train my back. Yes off course I use my forarm when training back, but not the biceps itself.

And about the squat thing. The reason for me not having that in my training plan is that I think that it's enough legs with two cardio sessions a week. I use my legs when I jog or cycle. Besides, my legs are naturally huge. I think it's genes. (hehehe) If I train them like once in a week, I'll end up looking like Tom Plantz. no kidding!

DelphiDoc : My goal is to lose some weight and have better endurance. I've been bulking for like a year now... I'd like to get my BF% down to 10-12%.
So should I do more sets and reps + more cardio?

Tryska : What you mean by Johhny Bravo look? I've seen him on TV and he looks cool!

as yates said in another thread today....

"leg training seperates the men from the boys." all you need to do is train them once a week. to ignore them is well, just plain stupid.

anyways....johnny bravo ain't got no wheels, man. I can't believe you would rather focus an entire day on biceps and totally ignore legs. shame on you. tuttut

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

You don't use your arms when running? Unless you run like Frankenstein walks, then you'll have no reason to train them either.

Be a man and train your legs.

get rid of the bicep day. training them that hard, along with back and chest days, isn't going to = growth.

Why only one set for legs and muliple sets for the smaller stuff? shouldn't be the other way around? Or have at least the same number...

I think you'll be pretty exhausted with 1set of 20reps squats... this here is hard breathing squats. You put on a weight you barely manage 20reps with, so that you need help on 2-3 last reps.

But I'm open for suggestions. If you have a better workout plan for legs, please tell me!

20 rep breathing squats do sound like an all around good compoud a$$-kickin' lift. and you prolly are gonna be whupped by the time your done....at least judging from hulk's post on that topic. It's not orthodox...but, it does train your legs.

looks good to me....except..question....for your chest/tris, you've settled on 3 compounds that will work your tris alongside your chest. but for back/bis, you've chosen 3 compounds to work your back and bis, and then added on another 2 iso's aimed directly at the bis. why is that? i mean.....why not either drop the curls and do a strictly compound type routine, or add a couple iso's to chest day as well?

say perhaps....rope pulldowns and OH tricep extensions?

(i might just be neurotic and seeking balance here though)

    oh and proteen...thanks bro!

Also, perhaps you could alternate between incline and flat bench or drop one
Get a dip belt and add some weight
    Kills the tris and chest
