Telling serious injury apart from minor injury by pain

    Hey

Does anyone know how to tell if an injury is serious or not based on the type of pain?

I have pain on exertion right at the base of my arm, really close to my shoulder. It isn't the kind of pain I associate with a serious injury, but I've had it for at least a month and it hasn't gone away. I haven't worked out because I'm waiting for it to heal.

Push-ups and bench press really aggervates it.

I'm going to say this is a bad idea, becasue I broke my hand once, and it didn't hurt at all I actually went 3 days with it before I finally got a cast. but I mean if something really hurts don't use it it's simple.

yes i doubt any of us hear are medical doctors and even if we were i doubt we could tell you what was going on with your arm from your brief description....if your in any doubt and with it going on for this long either dont use it so you no longer complain or see your doctor
