Spicy foods are said to have a positive effect on your metabolism...salt on the other hand will raise your blood pressure, make you thirsty and increase appetite.
Not bad things unless you're geriatric.
Some may say salt causes water retention but that shouldn't be too much a concern unless your like less than 5-6% BF and competing.
