    Straight Legged Dead Lifts

    So on straight legged dead lifts, should my knees be locked (fully extended) or just straight but not quite locked? Thanks!

    From what I have read and learned you don't lock them.

    don't lock them. There should be *some* natural bend.

    Locking your knees makes it really easy to tear a hamstring. Leave just enough bend so that they don't lock.

    That's why it's called STIFF leg Deadlift, not Straight leg.
    Keep a slight bend in the knees, but maintain the angle throughout the lift, ie stiff legged.

    I keep mine fully locked, although I know my flexibility limitations beforehand. Fully locked is the ultimate lower back exercise IMO if you take the barbell all the way down to your toes.

    Stiff Legged Deadlift is mostly a hamstring/glute exercise. And most people like myself only have the flexibility to go a few inches below the knees.
