    Shoulder presses pain

Whenever I lift weight above my head it feels like im compressing my spine. Like for example when i do shoulder dumbell presses. Could this be due to my form? I only really feel this around the neck area.

Yes. Make sure you have it right, or you can become susceptable to injury, especially with overhead movements.

Thanks, I'll look into it, my form seems good though, when i look in the mirror. I only really felt it on the machine shoulder press.

The machine one? Well you can't really screw up your form then. Just make sure not to stick out your back and chest to get an extra push. That might be it.

    Just some advice:

Whenever I feel like I'm not getting down the from properly, (this goes with heavy DB shoulder press lifts) I go over the form with no weights, then try to duplicate it using the DBs.

Also, scrap the machine. Use DBs, they'll give you the benefit of training your stabilizing muscles.

    Hope this helps.

It does, thanks for your help, both of you. I'll try that out Brian.
