can i build big quads without the standard squats as i have no squat rack in mygym. hack squats with barbell and leg extensions and maybe dumbell lunges,are these good for QUAD building ,i understand they are not ideal for whole body development as not compund movements but surely you can build big quads with these??
Lunges are excellent. Why can't you front squat though? You don't need a power rack to do those safely.
I've never been to a gym that didn't have some type of apperatus for squats...
you dont even have a smith machine??
they got smith machine but i injured my patellar tendons on it a few weeks back and i want to avoid it in future as athough it does work my quads i dont trust it long term for my knees
If you're constantly increasing the weight on those exercises, and eating and resting enough, I'm sure your legs will grow. Squats are not the be-all end-all of bodybuilding.
As far as i know, leg presses are excellent for building quad mass.
Deadlifts aren't going to do much for quads. I'm not knocking the lift, but for his purpose it would seem rather pointless.
