The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

This may sound a little "faggy" but I wanted to post something to let you know that, "I" for one think you are "THE SH!T" when it comes to no bullsh!t training!!!
I trained for YEARS with NO results!!!! I studied all of the major "muscle comics" WAY, WAY, WAYYYY over trained, and lived on supps. It wasn't until I actually sat down and talked to Mike Mentzer, (and read his books) along with Artur Jones' stuff, that I began to see the simplicity of it all!! I then began making SUPER gains, and I never even trained properly til I was 30!!!
It's nice to have a resource like you on this site. It's too bad a lot of these "kids" will never listen, and they'll continue to train with there ego, instead of their minds!
Thanx again for all the good advice!

I share your sentiments, (see my post to Mason),
I've been doing 11 sets for small muscle groups & 15-20 for large with poor results, dramatically cutting sets has paid off in superior gains in just over 16 weeks.
More is NOT better, disipline yourself to do less.
BDB, where did you get the chance to talk to Mentzer?

i think that bdb might have a thing going on for cm just joking. i would also like to give respect to chris mason. his knowledge of bodybuilding is vast, and without him, this board would not be as great as it is. i would also like to give praise where praise is due. although he might have a difference of training belief from chris, MAC SLOAN is a guy that deserves a lot of respect. the guy's knowledge of body building is also incredible. thanks to both of you. hey by the way, mac, since i live in white rock and your live in richmond, we should train together sometime. drop me an email.

Term...."i think that bdb might have a thing going on for cm "" harr dee harr harr I'm not sure you could convince any of the local girls of that!! Sometimes I think all this training sends my sex drive spinning outa control! I got a date this weekend with this chick that works at the new Starbucks by my house.....looks JUST like "Liz" from that Roswell show!

Hey Big, my folks, brother, and lots of friends still live there so I will be visiting. I think I will go there in April, so maybe we could train then. I will let you know the dates.

Thanks to everybody for the kind words, and no I don't have anything against Mac, he and I just don't agree on some things. I see no prolem with people disagreeing, even if it gets a little nasty. Heck, I disagree with my wife sometimes and it can get a little nasty with the words, but I still love her. No, I don't love Mac (no **** about the analogy please), but I respect his thoughts and opinions even if I don't agree with them.

Great thread, nice to see you all recognize some awesome wisdome and talent in Chris. He has even taught me a thing or two...

He is truly a brillent man, I had a wonderful opportunity to speak with him once, and I was truly impressed...not to mention how thankful I was that he set my a** straight about a few training issues......

I still hate ya for breathing squats.........

I gotta give Chris mad props. You know wtf you are talkin about and that is more than i can say for many people who consider themselves bodybuilders. Even though I may not always agree with your training philosophies, i respect that you have the balls to back up your positions with realistic info.
