The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I think you should just hit Big-5 or one of those sporting goods stores and try them all one. Trial and error.

I just started working out, and I don't mind the callouses, but I play on my keyboard a lot, and my teacher said I should wear gloves, cuz they might screw up my hands for playing. I guess that's my only excuse. There are so many to choose from, just get some of doze cheapie ones...I'm sure they'll work fine.

Yeah as long as they're comforable and work to your liking, then that's a good thing. I only use gloves on exercises that require to push weight over my head, like shoulder presses, bench press, and so on. I notice my grip slips a little more on these exercises then curls or something. I also like wrist wraps for heavy ass weights...

ya i only use the wrist wraps on heavy weight. like the 275 bench 330 shrug. or when i do reverse tricep curls with heavy weight.. i see places telling me that more padding helps me lift more? should i be looking for a heavily padded glove? i cant try on gloves since a. they are in packages b. no store that carries gloves has 300lbs for me to lift

It's not like a 330 shrug is going to rip your hand apart. Sand off the callouses and no one will tell the difference.

Yes, that poor scrawny bastard. I bet he feels so embarrased lifting in the gym with gloves.

I already have roughed up hands from everyday labor. If you're a guy and you have baby soft hands...you need to graba shovel or a hammer or something and do some damn work!!! I notice skinny people have soft hands. Hell, when I was younger I got funked up hands just from doing yardwork for money. I think it's impossible to not have rough hands, unless the only work you've ever done is change the channel with the remote and lift chips to your face, then yeah...I'm blabbing make me stop...
