Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    20 Rep Deadlifts

I know a lot of people have done 20 rep (breathing) squats but i was wondering if anyones done breathing deadlifts. Seems like it could be a kick ass workout.

I've done 10RM deads, and they were incredibly intense, to the point were I started losing form somewhat. I'd say that you're in a more dangerous position doing deads than squats if form suffers.

Also, with squats you're able to support the weight at the top rest position, though you are still loaded. With deads you're completely unloaded when the bar is on the ground, so it's definately not the same sort of constant load.

Yeah, it's fairly common. A lot of people alternate between breathing squats and breathing deads.

I personally don't like it because of the strong potential to break form and get hurt, as MMN said.

They're brutal. I had them in my routine a while back but when I switched up my routine, I'm moved it to 2 x 6-8.

Partially because the 20 rep deadlift set killed my recovery time as well.

I used to do them in my HIT days. Bad idea because losing form is too dangerous.

I tried doing 405 for 20 reps one time. But I used to always like to go in the 8-15 rep range while deadlifting.
