Is it just me or does Yogurt have a butt-load of sugars?
I'm looking at the label here and I'm seeing 33carbs/27sugars, too much? Sugar is bad for building muscle right?
Yogurt does have a lot of lactose (milk sugar).
Sugar isn't "bad" for building muscle. It can provide calories required for muscle growth. Carbohydrates (and excess calories) are almost required to achieve anabolism (muscular growth) in any appreciable quantity. That being said, sugars are usually not the best way to go about this as there is a tendency to take in too many at one time, and they break down quickly in the body, overloading the liver and making the possibility of the excess calories being stored as fat more likely.
There are better sources of carbohydrates than sugars from milk products, but yogurt offers many good nutrients.
Bottom line: If you're trying to get big, yogurt can be a valuable part of the plan. Just don't overdo it.
Also look into plain, low-sugar yogurts. The fruity or flavored yogurts are notorious for added (garbage) sugars.

Thanks for the info. I've been contemplating cutting or continuing to bulk. And I've decided to continue to bulk, but cutting down on certain sugars and fats. Not that I took in that many in before, but I've just gained fat I don't want.. which I know some fat is inevitable while bulking.
you could try hood carb countdown yogurt, taste is good and 1 gram of sugar
somewhat what I eat...
I mix protein powder into plain yogurt (no sugar added). It tastes great and provides me with some digestive assistance.

better still, if you like yogurt see if you can subsitute cottage cheese for yogurt in your diet

I was thinking about it. For some reason cottage cheese always grossed me out, my sister used to always eat it when we were little. And by little I mean young.
