Even when you're taking it easy, you're still making PR's. Great job, K.

Awesome bench PR, for two sets no less. 275 should be easy if you can hit 225 for 8. What gives?

Damn good work K, you're really knocking the bottom out of your previous bench issues. 225 x 8 x 2 is exceptional, man.

Hey fellas. Thanks for all the comments. The 225x8x2 was definitely a cool milestone I took last Friday off and rested up. Was out of town for Mother's day and got back to it yesterday. Gonna take it easy in the gym for a little while. I was pretty banged up the last couple weeks and need to sort of throttle down for a little bit. Gonna probably work on the old heart-muscle for a bit while trying to maintain the strength I've recently gained. Don't worry though, I'm still around

    Squats - Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

    Band Abductions
    Purple x 15

    Squats
    45 x 5 (w)
    135 x 5 (w)

    185 x 5
    225 x 5
    255 x 5
    275 x 3

Bleh, hard again. All sets were without a belt, and great depth, but 275 was a bear. My endurance for anything heavy over 1 rep on squats is pretty sad right now, lol...

    12" Box Lunges
    95 x 5 (w)
    135 x 8
    155 x 8

Not sure I like these. The 12" box wasn't bad. I think I may just go back to standard lunges.

    Circuit - "Fat Camp"
    Ropes (200)
    Ab Pulldowns (20) [Blue Band]
    Ropes (200)
    Pull Throughs (20) [Green Band]

    x2 Rounds - ~7:00 / 3:55*

*Round one destroyed my calves. I actually only made it through 15 pull throughs before calling it a round because I was toast, laf. I scaled round two down to just 100 ropes and 15 pull throughs. Just shows how fat and lazy my endurance has become. This will only improve

I was lazy and didn't take photos and stuff. I'll definitely grab some shots next time.

    Upper - Thursday, May 15th, 2008

    Ghetto Shoulder Horns
    5s x 20 x 2

    Bench Press
    45 x 10 (w)
    135 x 6 (w)
    165 x 5 (w)

    205 x 8 (77%)
    225 x 6 (85%)
    245 x 1 (92%)

Everything was going great and a piece of cake until I pulled 245 out of the rack and realized I was totally out of steam, lol. The rep was easy, but no way was I gonna hit 4 like I wanted. Perhaps next time. Endurance needs to build back up.

    Ring Ups
    BW x 10
    +50 x 8
    +90 x 3
    BW x 10

Next time I'm going to progress with a +25, +50, +75, etc. Just went a little too fast here and didn't have good energy for the +90.

    Circuit - "Hand Banana"
    Box Jumps (10)
    Jump Ropes (50)
    Push Ups (10)
Ab Twists (20) [10 lb med ball]
Wall Ball (10) [20 lb med ball]

    x4 Rounds - 2:13 / 1:38 / 1:22 / N/A

Overall not a bad workout. Endurance is definitely in the ****ter, but no worries. The circuit was a total joke. I haven't moved that slow ever in my life. Felt like I had weights attached to my legs and my heart was going to explode. Sad part was that this is the 'easy' flavor of this circuit. 15 lbs in the last few months makes a bit of a difference I guess. This is gonna take a little time and some hard pushing, but I'm excited to get my speed and agility back with some new found strength. My ****ing med ball is a total piece of **** and leaks sand on you while doing wall balls. Gonna head over to EFS now and pickup a real med ball.

    Bench @ 225x6 (left), Ringups w/ 90x3, 18" Box Jumps, Wall Ball @ 20 lb ball (right)

That has to be ****ty getting sand rained down on you while doing wall balls. Just keep at it with the circuits and your endurance will return. You have been doing nothing but pure strength recently, so it is no surprise that your endurance has gone down, but it should return pretty quickly. Makes me want to get up there and do a circuit with you, I might make it halfway through one of your "toned down" circuits without passing out or hurling .

Those ring dips are sick bro, as always!

Nice circuit, those times arn't bad for "coasting" through it.

Ahhhh. You gave up westside for the time being? Circuits would kill me. Literally. I have no endurance anymore. I actually tried a 13" lunge on my box. I hated it. I felt like I need the full ROM so I went back to walking them. I would use a bigger box, but I can't be bothered to make them just for that exercise right now. Maybe later on. When do you think you'll dump these "circuits" and get back to the heavy weight??

looking great in here Kiaran. Props to resting the body while still getting some work in with the compound lifts and the endurance work. That's not a bad way to program things to reach your goals IMO. Looking forward to seeing some more PR's from ya. (hand banana...lol)

I like your pictures, Kiaran. They look very professional. Do you take them yourself, or do you have a partner?

Just drink some dextrose next time you think you won't be able to pound out the reps. You'll get it.

you really having problems with energy and stuff? you mentioned your heart... if you think its serious i'd go to the doc and have him check you for anemia and stuff, all they have to do is take a hematocrit and they can find almost any blood disorder from one.

besides that, great job on doin those circuit thingys. those kinda look like my plyos some days. thats dedication bro. great job on everything.

I'm surprised you're having endurance issues considering how your workouts used to go. I know you've been doing more strength stuff as of late. Hmm. Still a good workout, and your past dedication shows that if you want to improve your endurance, you will.

Thats pretty funny about the med ball bro, I can picture that! Also I know its weird but the first thing I noticed was I have those exact same workout shorts... Anyway that was a pretty solid day and we all run out of steam at some point man. If youve really gained 15 in a few month then that probably is what is taxing you. Amazing what a few extra pounds can do huh? Ive dropped about 15 in a little more than a month and I feel much more energetic pretty much all the time. Either way your ring ups are still pretty sick and the workout in general was very solid. Keep it up big k!
