    You shouldn't ride against traffic. On foot you are supposed to go on the left side of the road, against traffic, so that you can see what is coming toward you.

    On the other hand, all vehicles go on the ride hand side. Bicycles, and I think scooters and skateboards (but I'm not completely sure) are by law considered vehicles, even if they aren't motorized, so they belong on the right, with the flow of traffic.
