You could derive a disproportionate amount of self esteem from the performance of the team you hope wins.

I think of the Red Sox as the beanie engine that could. (Beanie because of Boston. Beans, Boston baked beans, get it?)

    heh.

I'm sort of like a wannabe Yankees fan. Hey, I'm jaded. Tough noogies.

I'm a die hard yankee fan. Nothing beats memories of me being a little kid and watching the Yankees play with all my heroes.

Hehe, I don't care if they lose the next 300 games with a total salary of 1000 billion, they're still the best team in baseball in my book. Although a lot of the favorites have sadly left or are getting older, they need to get a new core that fans can get behind.

This could be one of the most entertaining World Series in years. I'm going with Sox in 7.

this is going to be a toss up i think...it would be cool to see the sox win...but it would be cool for my little bro if the cards win...i think alot will depend on how effective schilling and pedro are.

i dont see lowe pitching like he did again against the yankees.

Lowe's a very good pitcher. I tend to think his performance against the Yankees was more the "real" Derek Lowe than was his performance throughout this year. Remember, this guy was an all-star last year and a 20-game winner if I'm not mistaken.

I don't care for the Cardinals any way which soever - don't like 'em, don't hate 'em.

Same for Red Sox. But I guess I'll pull for the Sox this year so that the fans will FINALLY stop whining like little babies.

Manny Ramirez is such a loser. If the Sox lose tonight, it will be his fault. 2 back to back errors and that dumbass celebration on the base hit that almost got him out. Moron!

All it would have taken would have been 1 clutch hit from the cardinals, and they would have had ramirez's ass clown bumbles all over the papers. The guy is a total tool out there in LF. Not to mention his stupid antics attempting while hitting, you would NEVER see a cardinal do that.

Oh and, the difference in this series is defense

the sox got a gift tonight..ramirez looked like a dork out there...and then he was laughing about the play afterwards...that guy is oblivious to what is happening around him.

i am pulling for the sox though...just to piss off my little bro

Oh well, it clear to me the cards have the better team. It's unfair that they don't have home field though. I guess they do it the reverse way, 98 wins compared to 105....
