    BEST Post Workout Food/Shake?

I have been a bit confused as to what is exaclty is best to consume immediatley after training. I know about the 3:1 C to P ratio, but what type of carbs are best? I read that Fructose is not good, and something like gatorade, or even a pancake or low-fat muffin is better because of the higher glucose content? Any ideas for a good post-workout shake?

    I have the same question.......

Right now I'm usually having 2 scoops of whey, a banana and a serving of Gatorade. Comes out to 350 calories, 36g protein, 45g carbs. A

    Any suggestions/improvements?

I'd say up your carbs more to replenish glycogen stores and to better facilitate nutrient uptake.

It's not really that big a deal, but a lot of people will say dextrose is the be-all end-all of post-workout carbs, with maltodextrin, or a mix of the two, being close behind.

I agree, as long as you get a **** of a lot of simple carbs and whey it's not gonna be that big a deal. I dont think 350 cals for a post workout shake is sufficient though, unless your under 120 or so.
