    Im tall and skinnk, how do lift to get a bigger bulid?

    I am a 20 year old college student and I want to start lifting but Im not sure what to do. I am tall (6'3'') and skinny (140lbs). How should I lift in order to get bigger? I mostly want to build my upper body including sholders, back and arms.

    Dont forget your legs! Theyre a pain in the ass to train but you dont wanna have chicken legs once youve built up your upper body. Best thing is to buy some protein and creatine and then eat like youve never eaten before! make sure of course you get enough protein and calories in you!

    Greenmonkey, I'd definitely read the article JustinF linked to. I just started lifting about 3 months ago, I was 6ft, 145 lbs, now I'm up to 160 lbs. I work out 3 times a week and, as important, if not more, increased my calories. What is your diet like now? How many meals a day? Before I started this I usually skipped breakfast, now I eat at least 3 if not 4 high calorie meals per day.

    Also, if you're just starting to work out and don't have much strength, the best exercises for developing initial strength that will help in weightlifting are pushups, chinups, and like trident said, don't neglect your legs.

    Yes, how many meals do you eat a day? If I were you I would eat every 2-2 1/2 hours. I would also eat a lot of protein and carbs.

    Like the others said, don't neglect legs.
