What is the difference bettween sumo and conventional? I know that sumo is wide leg stance, and conventional is regular (shoulder width?) leg stance, but when doing sumo, are there certain muscles that are stressed more than others compared to doing conventional? And vice versa?

Sumos will stress your upper back and legs more, conventional will be mostly dependent on your lower back.
Stance width varies quite a bit in Sumo, but basically anytime you are pulling with your grip between your legs versus outside your legs would be called sumo.

From what I've heard, sumo's tend to be a little less awkward for taller people. Of course, I'm 6'3" and I only do conventionals. I feel both my back and hamstrings being worked.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...
Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial
