little computer problem - with a reward

ok so when i start the computer up everything runs fine but when windows starts the little red light that comes on when the computer is thinking always stays on and everything is really slow...when i press ctrl atl del and look at the processes there are two running (on top of all the others) that are taking up all the brainpower.

one is called urlnet and t'other is called runplay

when i stop these two sometimes they go away and sometimes they dont, then when the computer is turned on again they are back! how can i fix this?

Try looking for them in your add/remove programs. Uninstall them if you can. After that go to Start->Run and type in "regedit".

Do a search for both of those, and delete what comes up if its related. If it looks like its related to a different program DO NOT delete it.

Do a reboot and see if that works. If not, sorry for wasting your time.

Also, try deleting all your temp files and cookies. While you're in there at add/remove programs, get anything you don't recognize off your computer. Try a scandisk and defrag..

After all those steps are completed your computer should be running 100% fast. Hope that helps some.

i had the same problem, it was my anti virus. Really got me mad, its obviously something is running in the back that you dont know about. Try shutting down anti virus or do ad aware check which is usually a good idea.

Not sure, but I recommend that you get those if you don't already. (and some AV program)

A quick yahoo search with various terms didn't turn up anything substantial.
Can't remember the url of certain tech helps sites I wanted though.

Ad-Aware SE 1.05 , this program alone I have seen do wonders for slow computers. Also you might try going into Start->Programs->Accessories-> System Tools-> Disk Cleanup and run disk cleanup to get rid of old temps. Also a defrag might help as well if you hasn't been done in a long time.

Thus installing them is a sure fire way to get a virus
