    Dumbell chest exercises?

My main chest workout consists of dumbell exercises ie. incline and flat bench press and incline and flat db flyes.
I was just thinking that when trying to increase maximum lifting strength on a barbell bench press that triceps obviously play a large part in this, therefore is using the db's rather than a bb neglecting my triceps and causing my lifting strength to suffer as a result?
I also do dips and isolated tricep exercises but i feel that neglecting the barbell bench pressing lately may be effecting my overall benching ability.

Using only dbs will not make your bb press any stronger, but no it doesn't necessarily take any tricep effort out of the lift. It does incorporate more stabilizer muscles, and is better for muscle symmetry. I usually do the warmup and first few heavy sets with bb, then when chest and tris are prefatigued I do the rest of the work with dbs, usually only need a couple sets, then flyes and tri work.

Oh really? That's funny, because when I progress in DB bench press, it makes me stronger in BB press when I finally get back to it.

Hey 1r15h ... do both . Do DB for a couple weeks then do BB for a couple weeks .

Always change your workout . Your body will love you and grow because of it .

Then the chicks will dig you .
Give me your broken , give me your beaten ... I will build them up , I will lead them ... to the threshhold . Make you stronger , make you believe .
