    Too many complex carbs?

    This is sorta a dumb question, but I'm wondering if there's a downside to eating too many complex carbs and not enough simple carbs (I mean low GI simple carbs like fruit.)

    For example, I have oatmeal for breakfast, brown rice as a PPWO meal, a sandwich with two slices of bread for a snack, and pasta with meat for dinner.

    Should I swap in some fruit or yogurt or something for some of the bread or something?

    Bread and pasta are both quite processed, even if you eat wholewheat versions. Fruits and veggies are always worth having for their fibre, vitamin, mineral and phytonutrient content.

    i can't think of downside well in grande scheme of things.

    If you went into great depth and worked out new kcal level, you may get a difference. but this is more due to fruit being a lower carb content than bread per 100 grams etc.
    rather than one food being low or high GI.
    my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.
