Most people would love to sport a set of Popeye forearms however many own the Olive Oyl type, small, frail and weak. With some dedication and consistency building the forearms doesn’t have to be such a chore!

That is a forearm builder (and burner) for sure
will this actually make my wrists bigger?
There's a place for all of god's creatures, right next to the mashed potatoes.
Yes, granted you use progressively heavier weight to overload the muscles of the forearm.

"Test all things; hold fast what is good.": 1 Thessalonians 5:21
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

I used to do that awhile ago.
Do you think the combined forearm work from deadlifts, heavy rowing, and straight BB curls is enough to get the forearms "big"? Or should I have some isolation involved?

These exercises will definitely put size on your forearms. But direct work will give you the most efficient results.Originally Posted by Canadian Crippler
In the past I was able to see size gains without direct work. But a snowboarding accident, resulting in a broken left wrist, caused my left forearm to fall behind. The only way to get it to catch up to the right was to do direct work. There was definitely a difference between the progress made by the right with no specific wrist work, and the left with added direct work. Hope that makes sense and sheds some light on your question.
Best way to cheat on deadlifts...
Stand there for a few minutes, then pace back and forth a lot, huff and puff, wait until everybody's looking. Approach the bar. Back off. Approach it again. Back off. Get some water. Chalk up. Approach the bar again. Then spray some more chalk around. Wait until people start losing interest. When nobody's looking, pick it a little off the floor, and slam it down. Jump up and yell "LIGHT WEIGHT BABY". Then give high fives all around. - Belial

I have popeye arms. Relatively speaking that is. My forearm itself is huge as compared to my wrists. I have a small frame. My forearms has to be at least twice as big in circumference as my wrist. Looks kind of weird. And they're rock hard too. When people ask why I'm good at arm-wrestling, I attribute it to years of dedication to my favorite sport......pocketpool.

Heh. I broke mine snowboarding, too. Must be the most common snowboarding injury or something.Originally Posted by Matt04
It's very easy to make one. Just use a broomstick handle or a piece of PVC pipe, drill a hole, tie one end of about 5 or so feet of rope through the hole, and tie the other end through a plate. And yeah, they burn like a mother.Originally Posted by Chode1616
I've just recently gotten into serious weight lifting and i'm going to give this exercise a shot. So far everyone has posted good things so i'll give it a try.
During the summer i work with my dad doing landscaping, and i carry 80-pound cinder-block like stones to him to place in a decorative fashion. At the end of 2 weeks of work, my forearms are massive. I'm going to try and keep that going year round and maybe this summer will be easier.
