The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Deadlift prob

just how do you lower through both legs and back at the same time from the start of the movement without getting the bar on your thighs?

I seem to my hips a little first so the bar is going down without heading to the thighs.
It seems doing both at the same time all through is much better.
    just how?

it seems i cant squat down freely when using a free weight or no weight. i just cat keep balance, keep feet flat on floor and squat down at the same time. what would i be doing wrong?

Can anybody in your gym show you how? There's a lot of potential for injury doing them. It might be safer to watch somebody first.

    http://www.stumptuous.com/baddl.jpg

damn that looks a lot like what have been doing.
except i didn`t hang my back over like that.
looks like i have some form work to do.

i noticed the woman on this site puts her legs outside her arms where i put my arms outside my legs with thighs almost parallel.
called sumo right? which should i do?

Damn, kid. It's a wonder you haven't pulled every muscle you've got. Why don't you get someone to TEACH you how to lift in your gym? You need someone to SHOW you these things first hand. Don't they have real weightlifters in Holland?

just how important is the alternating grip?
doesn`t it make the bar twist a little?

well seeing those my dead till now was not as desastrous as i thought. still needs work though.

damn straight theres real lifters in holland. just not in my gym.
a dutch woman won the olympia this year btw (Julliette Bergman right?)

Some lifters are built better for sumo(hands inside the legs, legs wide) and some are built better for conventional. I would give both a shot, but considering how tall you are, sumo shouyld be better for you.

Mixed grip should just allow you to hold onto the bar easier.

What browser and which version of it are you using? Do you have scripting disabled in the options for the browser?
