    You can miss a lift for technical reasons.

    If that happens there's often a good chance you can hit it if you try it again.
    Vin Diesel has a fever.. and the only prescription is more cowbell.

    You want to open with an attempt that you know you will hit. After that, you might as well go for a PR and use your third attempt for anything you have left in the tank after that.
    Squat - 505
    Bench - 325
    Deadlift - 550
    Total - 1380@175

    But what's the point of attempting too much and missing it? Why not just attempt a little bit less and be successful? Wouldn't that be better?

    maybe he needed the extra 30 lb to win and 20 wouldnt have cut it?.. or maybe because he already knows he can get the extra 20lbs (outside of a meet) but he's really pushing himself.

    Meets can screw with you. A lot of times you have too much on your mind, or something goes a little wrong, and you can miss a weight you had hit before in the gym.

    Kudos to Chris R. Those are awesome lifts for weighing in at 148. Gives me something to aim for. Once again congrats good luck at future meets.

    If someone thinks they can hit the weight, why not try it as long as you got the spotters?

    17 yrs old
