When I do this excercise left handed with heavy weight I feel a sharp pain in my side delt. Any suggestions as to why this would happen?
I've had this to.. my best suggestion to you is to check your form. What it sounds like is that you are stronger in your right arm than in your left and the weight is to heavy for you to keep correct form and you are putting pressure in other spots of your body. Try decreaseing the weight and see if the pain is still there? (try to keep perfect form)
Yep, keep the form perfect. Make sure you're looking at yourself in the mirror the whole time. Keep your elbow in the same elevated position, and keep your arm as close to your body as you can. If the pain persists, drop the exercise.
