    Best time for Cardio ?

Sorry to have to ask this but I searched and cannot find the answer I'm looking for.

I read in an earlier thread someone posted that cardio is most effective for fat loss while done after working out ( I believe built mentioned that )

I will be cutting at the end of the month and would like to do cardio at it's most effective time.

I workout 4 days a week therefore I'm thinking of doing cardio on the off days as well as after workouts....good idea or bad ?

I'm also thinking of going with HIIT ?
    Any suggestion ?

Best time for pure fat burning is first thing in the morning before you even eat, the only fuel your body has is it's fat at that time.

I understand you CAN eat, but stick to protein and fat. No carbs, ESPECIALLY if you took yohimbine and caffeine for your AM empty cardio.

The other best time for cardio is post-lifting - 5-8 minutes of moderate intensity cardio (fast incline walking) can burn off the mobilized FFAs from the intense lifting.

HIIT is, in a way, similar to resistance exercise. Feed it as resistance exercise.

i was under the impression that cardio before any eating in the morning would also attack muscle after it got through the glycogen stores.. However, for best pure fat burning, do HIIT type cardio, i'd suggest only once a week, or maybe twice if you are really experienced. hth.

Bohizzle, you're right - but I understand that if you keep it under a half an hour, you shouldn't have much trouble with this.

...And of course, no HIIT empty in the AM - AM empty is strictly steady-state, moderate intensity (fast incline walking for example).

    thanks yall.

"yohimbine" ??? wtf is that ? lol

So 5 to 10 mins of moderate intensity post workout. cool

What about off days ? Would it be ok to do HIIT for about 20 mins ?
Or would that be too much cardio? ...(is too much possible )

in my opinion 20 minutes of HIIT would be an ON day, but maybe that's just me :P

I would say in the morning but after you've had a small meal of carbs/protein (this will ensure you will not fuel your session with muscle tissue).
High intensity cardio will ensure your metabolism remains high for the rest of day meaning you will burn more calories throughout the day than normal.
In my opinion the actual amount of calories burned during cardio is not nearly as important as the increased metabolism caused by high intensity cardio
