    ATF squats hurt my knees

i don't know, ATF squats just don't feel right. they kidna hurt my knees. i think i might switch back to parallel, or slightly below. i can do so much more weight with those anyway. but the ATF's hit my hamstrings harder i think. is there anything i could do so my knees don't hurt during atf's or shoudl i just switch back. i mean my form is good and everything.

I will say with 95% certainty your knees are going waaaay over your toes causing the increase stress on your knees.

dude, STOP doing ATF's NOW....my left knee is fuxored from ATF's. Being able to do ATF's or not all comes down to the flexibility of your tendons and ligaments IMO, some have it some dont

alright. next time i'll do a set of atf to make sure my toes aren't over my knees, and if i do infact have good form like i believe i do, i will quit. my knees crack when i do atf's too but not when i do regular squats. my trainign partner always thinks it's gross when i do atf's. yeah i'm not very flexible AT ALL so maybe that's it.

Try box squats for a while to correct your squat form. Done properly, ATF squats are the safest thing for your knees, IF they're not already damaged.

This same thing happened to me. I've been doin regular squats for a few years now with no problems then about 2 months ago i started doin ATF squats and my knee started to hurt. I had to take some time off and it still hurts periodically now after strenous exercise. I decided to just avoid doing them, but is there any way to make sure you are using proper form, so that your knees arent goin too far. Built suggested box squats, how does this help??
