Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Starting leg position for deadlifts

When I do conventional deadlifts, I bring my legs down to parallel, just like I do for squats. Anyways, I watched a few videos of people doing it, and they don't seem to bring their legs as low as I do. Does this really matter? Should I change my form or continue doing it?

i start off parallel. i can see it being uncomfortable for people to go parallel tho; i am really flexible, and it feels right when i start it off that way. i haven't had any pains, injuries, etc yet, and my maxes keep going up, so i definitely don't see a problem with it.

it totally depends on the person. I keep my ass kinda of high up in the air, and use mostly back to pull. If you watch chris mason DL, he almost looks as if he's doing a SLDL! lol.

I have a problem with that too, I did 300 the other day for the first time and found myself at the top with legs straight and pulling it all the rest of the way with my erector spinae... Weird, I think I need to work on that more.

My legs lock pretty early and a lot of jealous people who don't deadlift like to say I'm using too much back or I'm gunna hurt my back. I usually roll the ball into my shins, drop my ass, and just crank it up, I don't think your knees necessarily have to be bent for your legs to be doing a lot of the work stabilizing your body, etc.
