The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

I think i have a incredibly fast metabolism. I'm 17 and just from taking Dymetadrine and lifting, I managed to go down to at least 6%bf. I REALLY want to bulk. Is junk food a good option for a weight gainer? I know this can lead to heart problems but if it works, then i'll jog to improve my cardio. What do you think? BTW i've already started.

why start and then ask.. why not ask then start?

    I just dont get it..

IMO I don't think its a wise choice, sure while your bulking you can cheat every now and then, but I'd think you would see better progress if you track your calories and what you eat.

If you want to bulk up, drop the fat burners and don't be scared of putting fat on (that's what bulking up is).

Have a set amount of calories you will eat from 'clean' food. If you want to hit BK after you get all of your calories, then I say go for it. But I wouldn't build a diet out of candy bars and pop.

Yeah, fair enough maybe once a week for a cheat day, but if you get the bulk of your food from junk food, in the words of Arnold: "you will look like junk."

    Stay clean.

Remember "you are what you eat"

I'm not saying eating fast food will not help you gain weight, but you would be better off eating clean foods like chicken, tuna, pasta, natural peanut butter, rice, stuff like that.

Check out this site, it might give you some ideas.

With the exception of Yates, everyone who bashes dirty bulking are 150lb stringbeans.

If they know so much about bulking, why are they so small?

Go into the anabolic zone, and ask IB how he bulks. He's the biggest guy on the board.

I'd drop the fat burners, and worry about putting on weight for a year or 2. Then, you can worry about eating clen as you get older, when you'll actually need to.

    Gotta give this a ditto.

Make sure your diet is balanced, that you are getting a good compliment of vitamins and minerals (eat fruits and veggies). Make sure you are getting plenty of protein, and make sure you are getting a full compliment of essential fats.

Make sure that post workout meal does what it needs to do.

Other than that, have at it.

I've found ice cream (which is relatively low GI, has protein, and tastes good) to be an outstanding way to add calories. Fast food does the trick too.

Just keep an eye on the fat gain, make sure MOST of your gain is muscle (although you do have to gain some fat to gain muscle quickly.)

Hey Beercan ... how do you know what I look like ???

Short N Buff .... Im just telling you of my experiences. It didn't work FOR ME ........ I'll say that again "FOR ME".

I bulked before I dieted last year. I bulk to 268+. I didn't really work for me. I felt ill. I was tired alot. I found squatting a nightmare (too taxing on the lungs). I felt bad in myself as I was outta shape. I wasn't fat ..... but I was a big bloated water monster. I feel a whole lot better for being in shape, but you need to lay down your goals. If your gotta diet later on then give it a try.... look at Lee Priest ..... he's the fattest muther ****a you'll ever see in the off-season ... but he diets. If your not gonna diet ..... then do you really wanna look like crap all year round ?????

I think this 'see food' approach depends on what kind of a person you are. If you keep this up, with lots of junk for a long time, its going to be damn hard to switch to all-clean AND drop cals to lower your body fat later. I think its perfectly suitable to have some junk in your day to get those cals up, but keep the basics clean. Its better for you in the long run, when you will no longer magically maintain 6% bodyfat.
