The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Dips Question

For those of you who do Dips regularly: do you mainly do them for triceps development or chest development? I've always done them for triceps, but i wanted to know what everyone else does them for?

I do them for triceps but I usually do triceps on the same day I do chest.

I also feel it in my chest and shoulders when I do dips but I try and get a good squeeze in my tri's at the top of the movement.

The only exercise that I do for my chest and triceps are heavily weighted dips (325lb = bw and 2 -45 lb plates) and heavy (95-100lb) dumbbell presses. I would say the dips are primarily for my triceps, but the chest and delts get hit too.

I do dips mainly for tris and shoulder joint strength. I find weighted dips help my shoulder integrity quite a bit (I have semi-weak shoulder joints). Since I started doing weighted dips they've improved quite a bit.

But yes, I do dips mainly for tricep development and since it's a compound movement (moreso than tricep extensions or something) I stick to them since I'm trying to gain weight.

Both really, but I consider them more of a triceps lift than chest.

Previously done them on chest day, but since they hit my tri's more i've recently moved them to shoulders/tris day
You never know what you can do, until you try to do more than you can.

There's different settings at my gym with the handles, and outisde grip is supposed to work more of the chest and inside grip is supposed to work the triceps more. I've usually only been doing the outside grip for my chest but I'm thinking that I'm going to alternate each week from now on.
