pulldowns. If you want to shock your body you can do 3 sets of pullups with 3 different grips. Do one set of supinated, one set of pronated, one set of neutral and repeat for a total of 9 sets. ON your last 3 sets come down real slow. I did this rutine one time and I was sore for a week.

"shock your body"... now that's a phrase i havent' heard for a very long time. I used to tell my friends that they need to shock or scare the crap out of their body, so that their body may grow. hehe

But anyway, you can try rock climbers types of pull ups. Go all the way up, pause, go down halfway, pause, go all the way up again, pause, deadhang, pause, repeat.

Recently what i had my friend do is to take his max reps of the first set, multilply by 2, and try to finish that many reps with the least amount of sets. before he can do 5 pullups, now he can do 8.

I remember seeing pitures of a guy who was doing pullup with his body parallel to the ground. I'm still attempting that, and still fail miserably haha.

Like a few other people I would highly recomend all the various variations of the pull-up, there was a reason Arnold always did them for back.

Chins, lots of then. If you can't do them, then pulldowns will suffice until you can do chins.

I'd like to see that picture. It would seem that he would have to have GREAT back and wrist strength.

Wouldn't that be the equivelant of a bent over row more than a pullup/chin

I just went and did pull overs and they were very tough. I can only do maybe 20-25lb max. Did anyone else start off this low in weight?
