Last night I had one of the best workouts of my life starting with DL, I figured I would try to pull 405. I decided to do a bunch of singles to build up to it, went like this:
All of those were seriously very easy.
Then I tried 405.
My friend told me my legs got straight too early in the lift and I was basically pulling all with my back, setting myself up for an injury. Luckily the two times a attempted It I didn't get hurt but my back was crushed. The second attemp was better then the 1st, I was about 90% and I just gave up. I know I can do it, I will attempt it either next week or the week after.
Nice man. I'll be yankin 4 plates the next time I do em. Last time I hit 395 and went for the 405 but could only budge it a few inches. I think puttin 4 plates on anything just sounds like a lot of weight so it's impressive no matter how big or small you are. Good luck with it.

Ya, it's kind of a mental thing as well, it just looks intimidating.
That's a good lift tho, good luck to you too.
Good luck ya puss!
its nice watching the bar bend.
my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.
I hit 410 the last time I did a max deadlift. It just plain looks cool =)
Dont max to often, if you are seeking muscle than it may not the best way to build it. Doing 6-8 reps is best for hypertrophy
Hitting 4 plates is a GOOD feeling. It's definitely a milestone, sort of the next level.
