The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Hey there.. How is everyone? I have been lurking for about a week now and this seems to be a cool place.

I am 5'8" 289lbs(down from 333lbs since I got back into the swing of things) I used to weigh almost 400lbs at one time.

My goal right now is getting down to 250 while still keeping my strength and size which I have done quite well considering how much weight I have dropped.

I would like to be a lean 180-185lber but have no clue what my LBM is right now because I haven't gotten my body fat % tested yet.

    ..

    Thanks guys...

    Right now my routine is:

    Day 1- Chest, triceps
    Day 2- Back, Calves, Abs
    Day 3- Rest
    Day 4- Shoulders, Biceps, Traps
    Day 5- Upper legs

Sets/reps is also all by feel also. I usually do about 7-8 working sets for big muscles and 5-6 for smaller ones.. I think my shoulders and arms recover alot faster than my chest and back so sometimes I will hit them again on the weekend with a quick workout.

Cardio is done 3-4 days per week, anything more than that and I feel like I am doing more harm than good as far as keeping muscle/strength and losing fat.

Eating 6 clean meals per day and getting between 250-300 grams of protein per day. I know my body so well now that I never count calories anymore, I go by how I feel. I wouldn't be a very good personal trainer, I hate numbers :evillaugh

I do pretty good by doing things this way, I have dropped almost 50lbs since starting back up and my strength hasn't gone down much at all.

I have thought about getting on Clen to further my progress, but I am not too sure about it yet.

    What is your routine like???

What are your stats?? If you dont mind that is...

    Height
    Weight
    Age
    Sex
Chest, Biceps, Quads, Waist, Calfs, Neck, Forearms...

Those will help to paint a mental picutre of who you are, unless you have a pic you want to post.

    Damn, I don't know measurements.

    I am a male, 21 years old. 5'8" 289lbs

I wear a size 42 pants because I am still a fat ass.

    Bench press 335X1
Squat 365X1(still working back up since my back injury)
Deadlift 405X1(still working back up since my back injury)
    Seated DB shoulder press 100lbersX8

I can get some pics and measurements up later, but right now all I have on my work computer is an old picture of my traps.

    What are your stats?

At your height and weight, you're going to see excellent progress from just diet and training - besides, strong as you are, your LBM will burn some more it off with the cardio you do. I wouldn't bother with clen until you're already fairly lean.

    BB Rows
    DB Overhead Press
