    need some clarification

when box squatting you push your knees to the sides and sit back as far as possible....but do you try to spread the floor with your feet (trying rip the carpet) on the decent as well as on the ascent?....if this is confusing i am sorry...

I actually never did sit as far back as possible... I ended up pretty much at the edge of the box.

Yes. Push your feet out to the sides on the entire decent. When you sit, let your feet relax for an instant (this relaxes your hip flexors) then push your feet out again "spreading the carpet" and explode back up.

    Here's a good video of a box squat: http://www.irongodz.com/irongod/showthread.php?t=331

You might need to register for the site to watch it, but there are some great vids on there, it's worth it. Just use a little less weight than that guy lol
