The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Cardio in the morning..

Well as some of you might know im trying to trim off the last little bit of fat from around my stomach area. I'm currently doing lifting 3 days a week and doing cardio 3 days a week. I usually do my lifting or cardio at night. I usually lift for 45-60mins doing 2/3 muscle groupds per session. And I do my cardio for 25-30 mins. I thought about adding 15-20mins of cardio every morning on an empty stomach. What do you guys think? I'm on a really clean diet and Im going to try to lower my carbs on weekdays and then have med carbs on the weekends

    Thanks
    Bryan

How bout just doing cardio in the morning and not at night instead. Not both.

Just give it time; that weight will drop.

I regularly do cardio in the mornings. The only disadvantage that I find is that it is hard to put on size through weights while doing this. The price I pay to look cut and get that endorphin dosage.

I agree, lose the afternoon cardio and just do mornings 3 times a week @ 30mins a session. Good Luck.

    What about intensity?

I've been told to take it easy when doing cardio in the morning to avoid using muscle as fuel. Is this true?

    Thanks

there's been debate over this a lot since the board began, and i personally have come to the conclusion that morning cardio is best done with HIIT for about 15-20 minutes.

definately don't do more than 30 minutes.

Morning Cardio on an empty stomach will burn too much muscle. I usually have my oats and protein before i do my cardio.

I share a similar belief, hence why i said that after much trial and tribulation i decided that a short duration [15-20 minutes] was best cause this way i feel like i don't lose as much, if any muscle at all.

I gotta agree to drop the night session and just stick to AM cardio. I personally have tried HIIT cardio first thing in the morning and I dropped too much strength with it so now I just do around 30 minutes of low/moderate intensity cardio. Works pretty well but my diet is always what's suffering and retarding my fat-loss goals.

    Good luck bro.
