I use the University rec facilities. It costs $170 per semester or $428 per year. Not bad considering they have just about every type of facility under the sun.

I probably paid 1000-1500$ cnd for a rack, bench with 3 attachments, DB from 12-40 and a pair of 50's and a bunch of bars for various cables.

Everything I have is "gym" quality so I didn't mind paying a little more. I will never out grow the equipment.

A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.

My memberships are NOT what gyms cost around here. NYSC costs around $85/mo, Bally regularly costs in that vicinity also.

I've been with Bally for 8 years now. It's a "lifetime" membership on which I'm only paying a monthly upkeep, that's why it's so low.
The Gold's is a new gym opening up and I signed up early when they just announced it- that's the way to get the best rates.

Bally is more convenient after work. Gold's is more convenient if I go from home.

I go to my universities gym and it is free. Well actually its covered in my tuition. So depending on whether you see the glass half full or half empty I pay either nothing or $5000/year.
