The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Yeah you can. But it can make your mucus thick and make you want to hurl. I prefer water during and shake after workout.

I personally would'nt because most protein drinks are thick and really fill up your stomach. all that blood going to your gut to digest the protein is being taken away from your muscles.

    just my 2 cents.

*** This is not true. Blood flow to the muscles after consuming a protein shake can actually increase I believe by 300%

I would take one before and after.

"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do--this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God's law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

Actually MAki i would side slightly with compnatural on this one, purely because i remember reading something about how sex in the morning is harder after you've ate breakfast because your body is more concerned with getting blood to the stomach to cerry the nutrients to where they are needed.

at least i think that's what it was anyway.

Although not exactly the same this runs off the same principle.

    Makes sense to me.

By what mechanism would consuming protein increase blood flow?
    Squats work better than supplements.
"You know, if I thought like that, I'd never put more than one plate on the bar for anything, I'd never use bands or chains, I'd never squat to parallel or below, and I'd never let out the slightest grunt when I lift. At some point in your lifting career (assuming you're planning on getting reasonably strong and big), you're going to have to accept that most people think you are some kind of freak." -Sensei

well what i read was about food in general but i suppose this counts for protein too.

it was saying that if you have breakfast your body is gonna direct more blood to the stomach ready to recieve the newly digested/absorbed nutrients to take them where they're needed.

the article then said that because of this, getting blood to the ole' todger wouldn't be as easy cause the body is more concerned with blood at the stomach than blood in erectile tissue.

don;t ask me to give any links or references cuz i don't have none - this is something i read in one of my sister's women weekly crappy mags ages ago.

There will be incresed blood flow to the muscles because the waste products in the muscle tissue will cause vasodilitation. There will also be increased blood flow to the gut for absorption of nutrients. There's plenty of cardiac output for both, and the rest of the body. That's unless you have congestive heart failure, and you wouldn't be lifting in the first place if you did. Work out and eat.
