    Females thought of body building

I know that none of us in here want to become a hardcore body builder only to get any female out there in the world, but i was just wondering if anyone here has personal experiences with females thoughts on the sport. I found part in a article i came across.

A shoe that doesn't drop in Luciano's book is homosexuality, to which she devotes just one paragraph, but addictive weight lifting and steroid abuse are hard to understand in the context of heterosexuality alone. "Many women," Luciano writes, "consider extremely muscular men, like body builders, vain and disgusting and find it annoying that men work so hard to cultivate this body type even though they know women don't like it." The Adonis authors are even more precise: 94 percent of women call the bodybuilder's physique "extremely repulsive."

i wonder why women would think of us as just vain people, and so disgusting?

It boils down to physical attraction. Just as females don't find enormous bodybuilders (think Ronnie Coleman type) attractive, quite a few males do not find female bodybuilders of similar physiques that attractive as well.

What women don't realize is that the pics of BB'ers are in show condition.
When you are a smoothed out and fuller they don't find it so disgusting.
I like fit women and they are more attracted to fit men.
I think Budiak kept all of the pics I took of all of the meathed chicks in Ohio.
I had plans for those pics.

Any physical attribute taken to an extreme is repulsive to your respective mating/breeding gender. Too short, too tall, too fat, too muscular, too 'big', too 'small', excessive sloped brow, too narrow chinned, too broad chinned. Some physical attributes are more important than others: even a 3% deviation in lateral eye height on one of your eyes will have people avoiding you (often subconsiously).

It's why people all over the world are generally the same shape. There's a certain baseline that is desired for breeding.

Exceptions exist for attraction ... but they are often either aquired (getting used to your spouse getting fat, learning to see past a person's appearance) or anomolus (having a 'thing' for obscenely overweight people).

It's just basic biology. Fortunately people are pretty good at getting over it.

Every girl I've talked to about it (and it's been a few) feel the same way about men. 'Fit and athletic but not beastly.'

I never said women that are "fit" aren't attractive. But that would all depend on your definition of fit. I like an athletic build on a woman, maybe even a muscular build similar to Built's caliber, but a woman with the build of...say...former wrestler Chyna of the WWE, I usually don't find that attractive.

    Thanks Shao-LiN

I get guys who like my physique, and guys who tell me my arms are "too big" because I "trained wrong".

I train for my own taste, some like it, some don't. It's no biggie. I get more thumbs up than thumbs down, if this mattered to me. And I get a LOT more thumbs up than I did when I was fat LOL!

As far as my taste in the fellas is concerned, what I consider "overboard" may not be somebody else's definition of overboard.

Like pornography, I can't define it, but I know it when I see it.

I wonder what causes a women to find a man who is "beastly" so unattractive though. As if it was something along the lines of defense. As if if kind of guy of that size ever flipped out on them, they would have no chance in hell in survival? like a pyschological thing along those lines.

The funny thing about that, is that what girls consider to be "fit" (atleast the ones on MTv and such) consider super skinny guys, with a tiny ab outline... to have an awesome body. I never understood that.

Don't listen to them. Seriously, I consider deltoid separation and definition (which you have in abundance) to be very attractive. It sounds slightly ridiculous, but it's one of the first things I look at on a girl. Your arms are great.

I'll take a stab at it.

Younger women may find slightly androgynous-looking men more attractive because they don't look so intimidating.

Older women may grow to find "manlier" looking men more attractive.

I hear them say that, but it's not how I see them act. Girls are often very attracted to the big bodybuilder type, but I think they're intimidated by it as well. I'm not trying to generalize here, just extending my observation of (a) knowing many girls and (b) being around gyms a lot.

Thanks MM. I don't hear this often - I've actually been pleasantly surprised with how many men like to see muscles on a woman. I seriously had no idea.

I think if more women knew this, they'd be less fearful of moving on from the "pink dumbbells" on the women's-only side of the gym.

The few rare instances I've had this happen, I've just laughed.

I agree. I've talked to many girls about it, and they always say "I don't want to get bulky". I think girls have a misconstrued definition of what appears unattractive in the old "bulky" sense. If I see a girl at 135 who is in great shape with some well defined arms, it's infinitely more attractive than a 115 pound twig with tiny arms and legs.

I mean, girls with triceps, that's hot.

Your arms are too big because you "trained wrong". OMG...that's good stuff. Seriously though, your physique looks great, so you must be doing something "right". It takes a lot of hard work to look the way you do.

I see a lot of women that are turned off to weightlifting because they think it'll make them look huge like the women in magazines. I always tell them that the only way they'll look like that is by using steroids. It's just misinformation...or excuses. Meh...

    Hahahahahahahaa!

    I love it!

I don't listen. Other than to cock my head to one side like the RCA doggie and give them a puzzled look.

    And then laugh at them.

Seriously, it only happened a few times. But it IS funny when it does!

To the big bodybuilder types, yes.

To the insane bodybuilder types (the guys who barely look human due to muscle mass and low body fat) not as much.

This style body is probably attractive to a woman. This had better be a doctored photo. It scares me.
