    Looking for good RPG

    Hey All.

I'm looking for a good RPG to play. I just finished Fable--totally disappointed (and easy!). I have all the consoles and handhelds, but have a Mac, so figure that into your recommendations.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Yeah i bought fable too....way to easy, but it was fun for the moment. However i recently bought Jade Empire....wooooowwww amazing (in really any degree). The plot twist in it is just pretty intense as well. The nice thing about it is that you can either A) blow through the game...well its still massive, but not talk to everyone, learn spells etc. or B) learn the spells and all that good stuff and kick as* later.

Special K and Shao-Lin covered most of your bases.
KOTOR and KOTOR II for the Xbox are incredibly good.
I enjoyed fable just because I liked being a hulking monster with horns who senselessly slaughtered everything.

I do think that the SNES was sort the best thing for RPG's. FF 3/6 is probably the best game ever. I did enjoy all of the FF games, though, even mystic quest.
I also really enjoyed Lufia and Lufia II. My advice, download a SNES emulator, and find some of these games.
One I started on (but never got that far in) which was supposedly one of the best ever, but never came to the US was Terranigma- I believe it was by Enix, who did all the dragon warrior games.

    Man I'm a dork.

Morrowind, Elder Scrolls is an awesome game if you have about 10000000 hours to waste. It's pretty much a neverending game.

****- HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN?!?!?!?

Get the game of the year edition. You can probably find it for the xbox for $10, and it's unbelievably good, decent replay value and a TON of stuff to do/explore. I haven't done the GOTYE stuff yet, but my bro loved it.

most have already been covered that i was going to recommend... however, tales of destiny for PS is one of my personal favourites, along with grandia II for Dreamcast. i believe grandia I was on the PS (not sure, as i never played it). I've also heard good things about Star Ocean. hth.

I used to play RPGs for hours and hours everyday. Here are some good ones I enjoyed, the graphics might not be up to par with todays graphics, but they are definitely fun!

Dragon Warrior 1 -- Fun, only 30 levels, but simple and challenging.
Dragon Warrior 2 -- Fun also, more secrets, only 3 characters though
Dragon Warrior 3 -- The BEST one, class changes, and tons of hidden secrets
Dragon Warrior 4 -- Fun because you play 4 different characters each in there own story line and later they all come together, great game!
Final Fantasy -- like the first 6, you can get some japanese versions in english that were released for the SNES, I forget what it's called, origins or something.
    Lufia, 1, 2, -- really HARD
Zelda 2 -- you have levels kind of, so it's more fun that Zelda 1
Inindo, Way of the Ninja - graphics suck, but it's sooo much fun, really really challenging too, and lots of hidden secrets

Oh and let's not forget the shining force series! Shining force 2 for the sega is great. You can get an emulator for it online.

Here's a cool link that has tons of info

Fable was alright.. Me and my friend played it this past week for a bit on and off. Basically we found out you can trap a little girl in a corner in one of the towns and keep beating the **** out of her until your experience and stuff goes up. So we maxed out everything except magic at the start of the game lmao. RPG's I'd go with the Final Fantasy series.. They're always pretty fun. Morrowind like somebody said before is awesome, but you'll spend about 200+ hours on it haha. I haven't played Jade Empire but I heard it was awesome. Got like a 9.7 or something at ign.com which I trust pretty well.

Conqueror 1056 AD for pc, a pre 1995 game by sierra...still my favorite game. it's somewhat RPG. However for most fun and early era mutliplayer and great ragdoll physics, I recommend Rocket Jockey...i just found a custom setup so it can run on 2000/xp since its originally a 95 game

KOTOR II has a pretty bad ending. The producers didn't really finish the game because it had to hit the market around christmas times.

This is true. The rest of it is good though.
For me, it was satisfying enough to have all my questions answered.

Also- Dragon Warrior 1 maxed at level 20. I loved that game. I got it free when my mom subscribed me to nintendo power.

I don't know how many of those damn slimes I had to kill in that game.
I didn't like 2 quite as much, but it was pretty damn good.
3 was awesome, and unfortunately, I never got a chance to play much of 4- though I might have an emulated copy. This whole "real world" thing where I have to have a job, eat, sleep, lift, and pay enough attention to my girlfriend so she won't leave me really puts a damper on playing enough video games.

I was thinking maybe the second Xenosaga game.

I played Morrowind for months (good thing it didn't have a timer!!). I also played Baldur's gate for a while. I did FF VII, VIII (ah hell) 9, 10 and 10-2. I was thinking about doing the earlier FF's but I don't want to go thru the trouble of buying a SNES and tracking down the games.

What about the Tales of Symphonia? (sp?)

Secret of Mana is the best SNES game. You should give that a try if you can find a copy that is.
