Dumbells or bench, better for chest?

Which better promotes chest growth, dumbells for chest, or benching?..

First off: You are benching when you do DB Press. It's DB Bench Press. You mean BB Bench Press.

    Secondly: Either or.

It is preference. Many people use both. I use 100 lb DBs but my gym's DBs only go up to 100 so once I move up in weight then I'm going to have to switch to BB. DBs are nice because you don't really need a spotter and for me it is easier on the shoulders.

Do the one you like best. If you detest DBs, then do BB bench. If you like the larger ROM, then do DBs. Like everyone else said, it really doesn't matter. Eating is key...as usual.

im a big fan of dbs only because it seems that its easier on my shoulder pain... and i like the squeeze i get off of it, but like everyone says.. eat up and ull grow, and also what works for one doesnt work for all... thats the one thing you gotta know.. ive learned that the hard way.. so dont think what makes your buddys chest explode will do the same for you... do what works for you w/o hurting yourself
    bench -275
    squat- 400
    dead- 355 x 3
