To row or not to row.......

I have been checking around some places for rowing machines. Sports Authority, Big Five, and Walmart. And they have all stopped carrying them. Is there something wrong with rowing, or any reason why this has happened? Are rowing machines reallly uncommon or something. I was reading about how good rowing is, and i wanted to add it to my cardio. As of now i do running, biking, and swimming. I figured rowing would be a good changeup. Do you guys think its worth buying off of the internet, seeing as you are very reliable? Or should i not get it. I have this urge to row, i cant explain it, but im tired of the other cardios. And which resistance do you guys get? Ex hydraulic, dual cylinder, air, incline, or what? Thanks in advance guys.

I dont realy see why you would spend money on it. Just continue with what you normally do. Cardio isnt always fun but you do it anyways, and youll get bored of rowing to so dont bother.

If you're really serious about rowing, you must get a Concept II or similarly decent machine. Otherwise, don't bother. I've seen them used for $500, or about $800 new.

if your talking about an ergometer (as Nash posted), it's a great form of cardio, but I doubt any of the large retailers would carry such an item.

yeah you might hafta go to a place that specializes in fitness equipment. Or, alternatively, ask at your gym to find out where they buy from, and if they'd be willing to order one for ya

Im not going to spend 800 on a rowing machine that is crazy. I was just wondeirng if the 200 or less machines are a piece of crap or something. Do any of you guys have them or value them?
