The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

It's not particularly beneficial to bodybuilding, no. Some folks like to run, some don't seem to lose too much muscle doing it, but personally, I tend to get soft and fat when I run too much. So I don't do it at all anymore.

I don't understand the wording of question #1. What do you mean - can you explain it?

I don't think anyone can tell you how it will make YOU feel.

If you are hurt, go to the doctors. It really doesn't get any simpler than that people.

That being said, I've been running alot lately (3 times a week) and it's been seriously hurting my gains no matter how much food I seem to take in... and it's been wearing me down pretty seriously... SO it does depend on each person.

Do your cardio. Yes you can still gain, yes you'll feel more energized and yes you [U]may lose some muscle tissue. Cardio has only benefited me, and never otherwise. I cringe to think of all the foolish people who train all their outter portions religiously yet fall short of training the strongest, most important muscle of the body, the heart.

You don't need to run to train your heart.

And lifting is GREAT for your heart.
I agree...i don't do cardio but i try to lift hard and it feels like doing cardio sometimes.

And there's nothing wrong with going for a walk. I walk everywhere. Not too taxing, no special equipment required, good for leg circulation, and you can do it until you're a hundred. Running, well, for most, not so much...

Motivation comes from your brain, not from running. Nobody can turn the motivation switch on for you, you must find it for yourself. An insulin boost pre-workout might help you out a bit, but in the end you will need to find what works for you to find motivation. For me, a little creatine, some awesome music, and a couple quick poses in the mirror and BOOM, I'm ready to get jacked, let's go lift!

That guy in your gym is huge because he eats a lot (or did at one point) and lifted hard (or did at the same point he was eating a lot). If he always did cardio, then he ate enough to compensate for those calories burnt to still provide a surplus. Eat a lot, lift hard, you will grow. If you wish to run, do so, but remain in calorie surplus if you want to grow.
