    8 hours of sleep?

    when you say that during a bulking phase one should sleep at least 8 hours, what do you exactly mean?
    Does the time from when I go to bed to when I fall asleep count aswell? Or you mean 8 hours of actual sleep?

    I think you are doing more damage worrying about little details, just sleep wake up and go about your day.

    i don't know... people usually say 'you're getting enough sleep if you don't feel tired through out the day'

    actually, i never feel tired during the day, but i don't know if that's enough for my muscles to grow, since i have to use a alarm clock to wake up, otherwise i would sleep for another 2 hours at least... and when i wake up, i still feel like sleeping for half a hour

    i feel rested during the day, but i have lots of problems waking up and during school i feel a bit sleepy (but that's probably due to boring classes)

    my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.

    I more than chuckled at this one.

    I get up just before 6 and I try to get to bed just before 10 to accomodate my bulk (plus, if I don't get my 8-ish hours I am nothing short of bitchy).

    Since your given is:
    i go to bed around 11:00 and fall asleep around 11:30-12:00 p.m. i wake up just before 6:00 am
    ... it shouldn't matter to you right now whether the recommended is exactly 8 because you are telling us you're getting hardly 7. Add an extra hour, then if you can, add another. You'll be fine with either.

    it depends... when i go back home on saturday nights, i sleep from 2am to around 10:30 am and i feel ok
    but when i spend the night at a sleepover party, either i don't sleep at all or i just sleep a couple of hours at the best

    it's strange, because when i don't sleep at all, the day after i feel energetic as usual (i usually go and play some basketball or stuff in the afternoon), while if i sleep just 2-3 hours, i feel sleepy all the day

    Guy, you want to get grow, you work out consistently, with dedication, and you eat right, again consistently, and with dedication.

    Honestly bro try to get as much sleep as you can. I usually get over 9 hours of sleep a night and when I get under 8 hours I feel pretty crappy. If you can't get much sleep during the week then get 9+ hours of sleep during the weekends. "Experts" say that teenagers should get 9.25+ hours of sleep/night to allow for growth and other stuff.

    You should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep whether you're bulking or not. Just...sleep enough. That's all there is to it. Nothing overly complicated. It's just sleep.

    you should probably try and get more sleep if you can
    i try and get 8 but that never happens anymore during the school year (try and go to sleep at 1030 but just lay there til 1130)

    Although sleep is important, I think it should be the least of your worries based on what you've said. If you feel rested and don't get tired during the day, it's probably sufficient. Besides, your muscles can repair and grow even while you're awake.

    Diet is the toughest factor to get right when it comes to getting bigger. After that I would say proper training (heavy weight, progressive load, etc).

    Age: 22 Height: 5'-8" Weight: 175 (6-10-07)
    BF: 13.2% (6-10-07 w/ calipers)

    Lifts
    Bench: 300x1 (9-22-06)
    Squat: 285x4
    Deadlift: 225x10

    Long-term Goals
    Weight: 180 BF: 8% Bench: 315x1
