The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    pain in testicle

Is it normal for one of your testicles to be more sensitive than the other? I usually check myself once a month for any strange lumps etc. My right testicle seems to hurt when I touch it in certain areas, my left one doesnt hurt at all. Not sure how long it's been like this, I may have been "ignoring" the pain.

My uncle had testicular cancer so I'm kind of worried. I don't feel any lumps anywhere, just a little bit of pain. I'm going to schedule a Dr's appointment tomorrow, but wondering if anyone experienced anything similar?

    Thanks

I've had the same issue for the past month or so. My left one seems sensitive. No adnormal growths or anything that I can tell. It also seems to be hugging up closer then the right one. Some days I notice it, other days its fine.

Hows your sex drive? I noticed in the past few months mine has gone down hill. I figured it was due to the hard cut diet, and weight loss, but maybe not.

does yours hurt if it's touched? That's how mine is. The testical that hurts is also up closer to my body than the other one. If I close my legs all the way sometimes, it hurts. I'm really getting worried now

My sex drive has declined the past few months as well. I'm trying not to look up too much information online about cancer. Don't want to worry myself. It's been coming and going for a few months

I wouldn't say hurt. Just a feeling of uncomfortable.

I would see a doctor ASAP. It might not be anything to worry about, but you don't want to wait around for something like the testicles. Get yourself checked out. I've had the same issue, where my left seemed a little more sensitive than the right, with a feeling of discomfort (if pressure was applied). It ended up being nothing, but you don't want to take chances with these things. Again...see a doc!

Edit: Since you have a family member who's had testicular cancer you should go get yourself checked out IMMEDIATELY.

I've been putting off seeing a doctor, and just doing self checks often to make sure nothing feels strange. It seems to be getting better.

Um...let a professional check you out. I do self checks every time I get out of the shower, but a professional will be much better at identifying a problem.

If this helps, Stabber, cancer generally doesn't hurt.

I get breast lumps, and they hurt. I am always reassured that this is actually a good thing, because breast cancer lumps DON'T hurt. The ones that hurt are almost always benign.

    Get it checked out.

You'll feel better knowing what it is, and it might be something that can easily be fixed.

I'll give it a week. Past few days haven't noticed anything, but its been on/off. Last time I went to the doctor it cost me $400+, so I don't want to go when not needed as I can't afford it, but dieing isn't fun, so if needed I'll spend the money.

I had the same thing in my left testical. It was almost like phantom pain, like it was there but not. Wierd...the doctor checked it out and said it was nothing. A day or 2 later the pain was gone. I think it was just psychological...but in any case, a doctors visit at 400 bucks now, is better than a doctors visit some time later to find out you should have gone in earlier...

I agree. Get it checked. $400 to be reassured about the boys is money well spent, IMO.

    Varicose vein

I have had the same thing. On my right testicle there's a load of tubing and a bit of this seems to get swollen after a hard workout and then aches for days (including pains down my right leg). I spent some time trawling the internet and it seems that there is a condition where some of the veins swell up in your sac, a bit like varicose veins (I forget the exact terminology but it's easy to find if you type in 'testicle injury weightlifting'). I reckon I've got that and when I push to hard on the weights I think that I'm straining these veins. Anybody able to confirm this and give tips on how to sort it out?

    Update:
They found a few cysts in my right testicle. This also probably explains why my libido/erections have not been "normal" the past several months.

I have to go to a urologist now for further diagnosis. This sucks. I hate life

so it's pretty easy to tell the difference between a cyst and cancerous mass?

do you think using laptops could have caused this?

    thanks

Um...you don't want to have a laptop sitting on your manbags. The heat from the laptop can be damaging to them. You should get one of those laptop heat pads as a preventative measure.
