    tired, worn out, losing inspiration, drinking.

    I know you guys probably get this all the time, but i need help. (i'll get this out of the way )

    been lifting for 8 years... off and on (usually only stopping lifting for other excersizes: hunts, biking, hiking trips, etc) anway, I started with those plastic-coated cement weights and burlap bags full of dirt on pulleys, then going to the high-school gym, with nautilus 'stations' to the University weight room. I lift(ed) 3-5 days a week; took kenpo, jiu jitsu, and kickboxing 4-5 days a week for the past two years.

    I've seen some good gains and plateaus... i don't have impressive lift #'s, but they're good for me, and I don't want to be a power-lifter anyway.

    the past week-and-a-half, i've skipped the gym, skipped out on MA, and hit the bottle... wine, beer, brandy, whiskey. I sit on the couch, watch TV, surf the web, and drink.

    I go to work; irritable, unsocial, unhappy. People piss me off all day long. My 5 year girlfriend is sensing the strain and avoids me.

    I need inspiration, I'm a better person when I excersize.... I just can't shet my git together.

    Get rid of the g/f LOL I bet if you get some attention from other ladies you'll be back to normal.

    Why? What does the OP expect -- that we're going to magically give him motivation? He knows what the problem is: he's drinking too much and not going to the gym.

    i guess i'm more wondering if this hobby is something you grow out of and/or what you guys do to keep it fresh. it used to be something i'd just 'do', but lately I ask why.

    Dude every person feels like **** every once and a while. You my friend have just taken this "****" feeling to another level. One day doing that is one day too much, lol. It just takes that ONE BIG hurdle to jump over, and this is getting out of your house and hitting up the gym, going to the beach, or RUNNING. YOU PICK.


    I am going to go ahead and assume you have been drinking all day/night, so why not make tonight the last night your going to be WASTING TIME? Go to bed with a smile, wake up tomorrow morning and cook a few eggs, maybe even put on the TV and watch a bit of ESPN.

    Then do what ya gotta do.

    Just stop being a puss and hit the gym. In the time you spent thinking about it, you could have already been there hitting the weights. Load your music player up with some hard rock, and go lose yourself in iron. Leave the rest of the world at the entrance to the gym. Enter your own happy land. Be one with the weight. Make sweet manly love to the barbell.

    Lol, sounds like your in a slump. The **** will pass, allow youself a week off. Still eat clean, drink plenty of water and for god sake get off the damn demon juice, you cant expect good health if your drinking heavily, and if you keep doing it you will lose all motivation for ever training again.

    If you have a gf or wife, persuage them to increase your weekly sex to 4-5 days a week, this will get you off the alcohol and stop your goddamn whining .
