Can somone tell me the side effects of getting to much sleep? I currently work overnights at my job, and my sleep schedule is completely fugified.
Sometimes ill work, get home, then hit the bed waking up around 8 at night. But once I wake up I feel drousy, foggy headed, and cant think straight. So I figured its a lack of food, right? Well I go and eat my breakfast (oatmeal, 2 scoops protien powder, glass of OJ, multivitamin, and a cup of strawberry yogart) thinking this would fix my problem. Well 4 hours pass, and still feel the same. So around 10 after my 2 meal, I figured I would take a LITTLE nap. I fall asleep at 10, and next thing I know its 5 in the morning, but I feel completely rested.
Now this happens/has happened quite often since ive been working overnights. I just wanted to know the effects of this, and if there is any way I can correct this at all?
I can get myself into a regular sleep pattern, but what seems to mess me up is when I HAVE to get something done during the day, I make myself stay up to get it done. I'll stay up to around 5 in the afternoon, then have to wake right back up at 8 to get ready for work.
Is there anyone who has had similar experiences? If so, what did you do to work around having a night job?
