The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    I can't lift because...

Because I don't have the time.
    Because I'm too tired.
Because I'm not one of "those people".
    Because I have asthma.
Because my shoulders are messed up.
    Because I can't afford it.
    Because my knees are bad.
    Because I'm too lazy.

    What's your excuse?

My favorite is not an excuse, but my response; 'Good, now get the #$%#$ out of my way, I need to get to the squat rack.'

    I have a valid excuse!

Wrestling Practice + Running 2+ Miles everyday.

1st Day of Wrestling Practice = I can't even support my own weight in a chair. (like, if I pushed up with my arms I couldn't hold myself up). I spar with a freaking 300lb guy and then do 100 push-ups and 100 crunches.

The coach is awesome though...Taught Varsity for 5 years, won 2 Vars Championships and taught Middle School Wrestling for 1 Year (this is his 2nd) and won the championship there. His Varsity team went on a 32 match winning streak, with only 26 losses in his whole career as Vars. Coach. I think.

Other people's excuse: I'm not sure what I'm doing and don't want to look stupid.

Mine is always "because I have way too much ****ing work."

And that's the only excuse, ever.
