The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Monday
    decline 2x8
    weighted dips 2x8
    military 1-2x8
pressdown 1x8 or weighted crunches 2x8

    Wednesday
    squats 3x8
sldl 3x8 or leg curl 3x8
    calf raise 3x8

    Friday
    deads 2x8 or tbar 2x8
    weighted chins 2x8
    shrugs 2x8
bb curl 1x8 or weighted crunches 2x8

    --
I will alternate stiff leg deads and normal deads each week (sldl one week, deads the next).
I will alternate pressdowns and bb curls each week (pressdowns one week, bb curls the next).

This is a slight variation on my current routine ... I have added deads every other week and will start doing some ab work to keep my core strong. I also cut back on arm work (only doing 1 direct set per week). Oh, and I switched push day back to Monday.

More volume!!!! Hehe. But as for your split and exercise choice, EXCELLENT. But I would replace decline with flat, for the sake of tradition and it puts a bit more stress on your shoulders (kind of the best compound for hitting chest/tris/delts). The weighted dips will bust your chest hard enough, prolly.

You may find that your lower back is still hurting from squats on wednesday that you can't deadlift your normal weight on friday. Well, i definatly would.

    My opinon

You have a great set up Anthony, I would suggest though on the first day, to pick one chest exercise, include the dips though, dips hit the TRIS< and shoulders VERY hard. Switch ALL exercises every 4-6 weeks...good luck. Also, Use an INCLINE movement instead of the decline bench.

i agree with cobra on everything except the volume. i really like low volume but thats up to you and how you respond to volume. i also think that declines are the best pressing movement but like cobra said, the dips will pick up the slack if you lean foreward. nice set up

    Nice split.......

It is nice and low volume wise...

I squat and dead a day between each other but I like to do deads first then squats.. Something to think about..

    Looks good though !

Well, with this routine I will only be doing 1 direct set for triceps every 2 weeks. After hitting chest & shoulders hard, my triceps have already been worked. I feel they are getting enough stimulation without doing very much direct work.
