Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Hydrocortisone cream

I'm abit worried about the side effects listed on it. It lists thinning of the skin and discoloration as side effects for excessive usuage. I'm wondering what the likelyhood of getting the side effects for using on average once/twice a week for skin problems.

Once or twice a week = not a problem

Side affects vary.. they have to put them on the label as possible though.

Most people don't get side affects and if they do it's usually down to chronic useage or they are just unlucky.

If you get side affects just use a different cream

I apparently have Seborrheic dermatitis. Its commonly called dandruff on your head.. but you can get it in skin folds as well, which is where I'm treating it. I can keep it under control with moisterizers most of the time, but I have to use hydrocortizone cream occasionally if it looks like its starting to happen again.

i am actually using hydrocortisone myself. my dermatologist prescribed it as part of treatment for eczema. although he doesnt seem to want to cure my ailment so that he can stuff his pockets (which i can get into later if you want me to), this is what he explained to me.

i am getting eczema on my neck which looks scaly and etc. i looked up what hc creams do and found out that they are a type of topical steroid (which is why you are asked to wash your hands after application) and serve as emollients which soften up those trouble areas. from what ive seen, there dont seem to be any problems with the skin thinning...although i did break out (acne) a bit after about a week or two of application. i think it is due to my sensitive skin, but the hc definitely playd a factor i think. it probably made my skin more sensitive...but dont know if it did that by thinning out the skin.

once or twice a week is ok. you'll be fine.
    I know you're half-crazy, but I wish you'd go all the way.
