The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Looks good so far. It's three hours, though, so Jackson must be really confident and happy with what he's made. I'll always respect that kind of confidence and the hard work that went into making such a movie... even if it turns out I don't like the movie itself much.

You know, like art. I don't like a lot of the classical artists but I respect their creativity.

Not big enough. Jackson paid 20 million out of his own pocket to finish it the way he wanted.

Apparantly Kong is his dream project. I can respect that and am looking forward to the results.

That's actually some really good news, means he'll put a lot of quality work into it.

Edit: Also the running time is 187 minutes, which is a good thing in my opinion since it'll probably be better at giving us a sense of the characters, etc. Budget is $207 million, not sure if that's before or after PJ's contribution.

    I've been worried about this.

A great director and lots of money CAN create a wonderful movie.

But... there's only so shiny you can polish a turd... And the KK story is pretty crappy.

Word, dawg. Your post totally inspired me to change my views on life.

Pessimism is negativity for its own sake.

I'm down on the movie because the trailer looks crappy, because Jack Black is a star, and because the original movie and story it's based on suck.

As I said earlier, though, I'll wait for the release to make up my mind - I will see it within opening week. I trust Jackson enough to not screw me like a 2-dollar whore. From "Bad Taste" on, I've loved his stuff ('cept Heavenly Creatures - just don't get into the whole whacko school girl love killer thing). And if a PJ fan jumps in and calls me an idiot for not enjoying Heavenly Creatures - be forewarned I will own you with mass e-skillage.

What's funny is I guess PJ is giving himself a cameo in the movie. Usually cameos can go somewhat unnoticed but man Jackson is gonna stick out like a sore thumb with his long greasy hair, fatty spectacles, and his portly stature. Every picture that I've seen of him has given me a sense that he is the archetype of a computer nerd.

He was in Return of the King as well (though the scene was cut and put back in for the extended edition). Legolas shoots him on a boat.

Really, if he throws himself in as a photographer at the unveiling of Kong in New York I sincerely doubt anyone will notice he's there.

Stan Lee is the one who makes all his cameos obvious.

Probably from slaving away at all the really long films he's been making. In a way he already has made a big name for himself with the LOTR Trilogy but if this movie is critically acclaimed (I'm assuming it'll be a box office smash) then he'll pretty much have made himself a film legend.

He's already going to be a film legend.

His early movies are ALL cult classics - and LOTR is one of the few movies that has mass appeal AND cult classic status, a la Star Wars or Indiana Jones.

I guess PJ has lost something like 60lbs. Said he was unhappy being overweight, decided to do something about it. Pretty cool. I'm sure the movie will be a POS. I'm with Gyno: you can only do so much with a crappy plot.

if he has lost 60lbs he is still overweight, maybe if he loses 200lbs then he is close to being normal.
