The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Death Metal?

Anyone know of any good death metal bands that I should look into? My new roommate is an uber-Christian dude that likes to preach about my 'sinful-life', and nothing would give me more pleasure than to wake him up every morning with some death metal dude screaming his lungs out over the stereo.

    For maximal offense, I'd suggest:

    Deicide
    God Dethroned

    The Haunted
    Arch Enemy
    At The Gates
    Amon Armarth
    As I lay Dying
    The Black Dahlia Murder

I know, not all death - but will work well.

I second Amon Amarth, although they aren't satanic... but "metalwrath" would be a GREAT wake up call and it's available for free from their website.
"When" by Opeth would make a nice wake up call too...

    Take THAT, roommate.

I'd love for you to go up to Eivind and say that. You remember him don't you? My big satan worshipping roommate in the army. His band 'Carpticon' is having a gig at Betong in February

This is totally sweet. I'm going to have the sweetest death metal playlist ever. And it's going to be on repeat 24/7. I especially liked Amon Amarth and God Dethroned.

I would also suggest, for sheer offensiveness, some GG Allin is right up there.
I'd recommend the album "Brutality and Bloodshed for All" from when he was with the Murder Junkies.

Edible Dick Grease or Cannibal Corpse are also offensive enough to look into.

I would go with Norma Jean. They're a Christian band, but you'd never know it. So you can bask in the irony of him hating God's Word.

    Or Circle of Dead Children.

I am pretty sure no Christian would be offended by you listening to Satanic music. It certainly doesn't offend me of what you do. However, it would be rude to wake someone up to music that they do not prefer to hear... It isn't like you can understand them growling with the hockey sticks hitting the tin garbage cans over and over.

Great choice with the Norma Jean bro. I really liked their older stuff though. I think their new vocalist sounds like **** compared to the guy they used to have. Some other "christians in a band" that have a darker sound to them include:

    Between the Buried and Me
    Underoath (old stuff)
    Norma Jean (like Xian said)
Beloved (has some harder stuff, though most is pretty tame)
    Zao (sp?)

Fuck, fight, or hold the light.

the problem with these bands(most of which I love), is that the average person won;t understand one word of the "offensive" lyrics. yes morbid angel and deicide are great choices, but unless you're reading the lyrics along with the song, you won;t catch most of it.

this is why i suggest Slayer's "Reign In Blood". clear vocals, brutal music, very evil. Altar of Sacrifice should piss your roomie off.

Ah- see I considered this as well, hence my addition of the non-death metal GG.
My primary goal was to go for something that's immediately loud and with death metal vocals, even if it wasn't necessarily understandable to the listener- I went for maximum "jump out of bed" shock factor. I'd save the specific offensive lyrics for when the roomie is trying to study or has his family over or something.

It's not death metal - but Closer by NIN is easy to understand and is perverted enough to mess your roomie up. It even talks about God LOL
