    split or once a week

    in your guys opinion what do you think is better a split workout such as

    mon and thurs
    upper body

    tues and fri
    lower body
    doing the basics

    or doing say
    mon chest 15 sets
    tues back and bi
    wed off
    thurs should and tri
    fri legs

    using more volume
    my main goal is size but would also like some strength

    Too many sets. Way too many. Try doing 2x6-8 per exercise and doing 1-3 exercises for chest. Make the weight heavier.

    Mon: UPPER
    Tues: LOWER
    Wed: OFF
    Thurs: UPPER
    Friday: LOWER
    Sat/Sun: OFF
    5'10", 170lbs, 10% bf

    Bench:255 Squat:295 Dead:400
    Snatch:145 C&J: 205
    Chin-Up: +135 Dip: +100
    Max Pull-Ups: 44

    Ive noticed some definate strength results in my most recent routine...

    mon-chest and bis (bb's)
    wed.-back and hams
    thurs-chest and bis (db's)
    fri.-shoulders and tris
    Bench-315(1) 275(5)
    Squat-345(5) (1)?
    Deadlift-315(10) (1)?
    6'0 175-180

    Based on the info in your post, I would go with the first option. Keep it simple.
    Squats work better than supplements.
